Intermediate to advanced students will delve into the proportions of the human body. They will use various hand building techniques to sculpt a full figure and focus on facial features and surface treatments.

Instructor

Heida Halldorsdottir

Who is it for?

Intermediate to advanced hand builders.

What you might make

Students will focus on making heads, sculpting facial features and building a full figure all while focusing on the proportions of the human body.

What to expect

Your instructor will provide hands-on demonstrations and guide you through an exploration of sculptural work, as you learn more about the human form. Students are encouraged to bring in a figurative project on which they would like to get guidance.

What to bring

Basic handbuilding tools, such as a fork, a wooden paddle, skewers, wooden dowel rods, soft and stiff brushes in different sizes, a loop tool, a wire tool, a knife, a needle tool, a serrated rib, a red rib from Mudtools (see link 1 below), and an eye tool is a must (see link 2 below).
